I'm a music graduate of Maynooth University, and University London, living in Dublin. I was introduced to music in the traditional Irish context with a tin whistle at the age of 5, later taking up piano in a classical context. My degree and later postgraduate studies had a mainly classical focus, although thankfully, nowadays the distinction between classical, folk, ethnic, electronic and jazz etc. is becoming increasingly blurred. 

 

   Between those early beginnings and now, my experience of music has been through performing; both solo and ensemble, instrumental and choral, in both formal and informal settings, composition and musicology. I still dabble in a mix of all the above, composing for all types of media, and projects including commercial, documentary and art installations.
